Peter Ford, Director of Regents Estate Agents, comments on the sluggish property market and what needs to be done

Townends Estate Agents forms part of the Badger Holdings group of property specialists with offices operating throughout London, Surrey, Middlesex and Hampshire. Services offered include, residential sales, residential lettings, lettings management, conveyancing and land & new homes.

Badger Holdings Ltd, an independently owned company, prides itself on having a family feel with senior management having several members of their immediate family employed in the business. Its areas of trading make it, in our opinion, the premier Greater London Agent.

Badger Holdings Ltd also trades under the names of Regents Estate Agents, dot financial services, Tyser Greenwood Surveyors and INEX Property Solutions.

Badger Holdings are proud to support The Shooting Star Children's Hospice, based in Hampton, Middlesex.

Editors Notes

January 2010 saw most industry experts optimistic about a buoyant and improving property market on the back of a stronger than expected final few months of 2009. However, things didn’t go to plan from the start as the country shivered under the extended cold snap. Since the arrival of spring, the market has witnessed a slow thaw which has been reflected in levels of activity.

Peter Ford, Director of Regents Estate Agents, comments: “A sense of optimism is definitely returning with some positive news coming from the banks and building societies and more people deciding to move. The current market is evenly balanced between sellers and buyers and there are undoubtedly people out there who have been putting off their move for the last few years creating considerable pent up demand and some local competition for the most desirable homes.

Regents Estate Agents cover Sunbury and Staines which remain highly popular areas being both affordable and accessible to all buyers – including the recently endangered first-time buyer. There still seems to be a tendency for buyers to sit on their hands, particularly with that General Election looming, however my view remains that if you have finance in place and have found your dream home you need to act today to secure it – as it may not be there tomorrow regardless of who is running the country.”
